Refund & Returns Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from SmartlySelect.com. Our store carries two categories of products — physical goods (including food and spice products) and on-demand printed apparel (custom T-shirts). Each has its own return conditions as described below. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
1. Return Window
All return requests must be submitted within 7 days from the date your order is delivered. Requests made after 7 days from the delivery date will not be accepted under any circumstances.
2. Video & Photo Proof Requirement
All damage, defect, or quality claims MUST be submitted with video proof via our official upload link: smartlyselect.com/claims-upload
To protect both our customers and our business, all claims for damaged, defective, or incorrect items require video evidence submitted through our official claims upload link. This is mandatory and non-negotiable.
Your video proof must clearly show:

The item in its original, unworn/unopened condition at the time of the claim

The full item from multiple angles
-
The specific defect, damage, or quality issue being claimed

The packaging and any shipping labels (to confirm delivery condition)

Your order confirmation number held next to the item or displayed on screen
Video submissions must meet these requirements:

Submitted within 7 days of the delivery date — no exceptions

Uploaded via our official link only: smartlyselect.com/claims-upload

Minimum video duration: 30 seconds

File format: MP4, MOV, or AVI
-
Maximum file size: 500MB
Claims submitted without video proof via the official upload link will be automatically rejected. We do not accept photos alone, email attachments, or social media links as proof of damage or defect.
3. Product Categories & Return Rules
3a. Physical Products (Food, Spices & General Goods)
To be eligible for a return on physical products, all of the following must apply:

The item is unused and in the same condition as received

The item is in its original, unopened packaging

A receipt or proof of purchase is included
-
The return request is submitted within 7 days of delivery
-
Video proof has been submitted via smartlyselect.com/claims-upload (for damage or defect claims)
The following physical products cannot be returned:

Opened food or spice products (for health, hygiene, and food safety reasons)

Items damaged due to customer misuse or improper storage
-
Gift cards or vouchers
-
Items marked as final sale
3b. On-Demand Printed T-Shirts (Custom Apparel)
On-demand printed T-shirts are custom-made to order. We do NOT accept returns or refunds due to wrong size selection, change of mind, or personal preference.
Because each T-shirt is printed on demand specifically for your order, we only accept returns or refunds in the following cases:

The T-shirt has a verified manufacturing defect (e.g. seriously misprinted design, major ink defect, stitching fault that affects wearability)

The item received is physically damaged upon arrival (e.g. torn, structurally defective)
-
The wrong item or design was sent due to our error
What Does NOT Qualify as a Defect
The following are considered normal production characteristics and do not qualify as defects or grounds for a refund or replacement:

Minor variations in colour tone compared to on-screen product images (screens display colours differently)

Slight differences in print positioning within a standard tolerance of +/- 1.5cm
-
Very minor ink variation or subtle texture differences inherent to the printing process
-
Small loose threads that do not affect the structure or wearability of the garment
-
Natural fabric variations in weight, feel, or shade within the same product line
Size-related returns: We do not accept returns or issue refunds if you ordered the wrong size. Please refer to our size chart on the product page carefully before placing your order. If you are unsure of your size, contact us at support@smartlyselect.com before purchasing.
To be eligible for a quality or defect claim on a T-shirt, the item must be:

Unworn — the garment must not have been worn at any time

Unwashed — the garment must not have been washed or ironed
-
In original condition — tags must still be attached
-
Accompanied by a video submitted within 7 days via smartlyselect.com/claims-upload
Approved claims will receive a free replacement or full refund. The remedy offered is at SmartlySelect’s sole discretion based on stock availability and the nature of the defect.
4. Non-Returnable Items (All Categories)
The following cannot be returned or refunded regardless of product type:

Opened food or spice products

On-demand printed T-shirts returned due to incorrect size selection by the customer

On-demand printed T-shirts returned due to change of mind or personal preference
-
T-shirts that have been worn, washed, or had their tags removed
-
Items where minor colour variation, print tone differences, or small loose threads are the only complaint
-
Items damaged by the customer after delivery
-
Gift cards and vouchers
-
Items marked as final sale
-
Any claim submitted without valid video proof via our official upload link
5. How to Submit a Return or Claim
All approved returns must be shipped back to our Singapore address. Follow these steps:

Step 1 — Upload your video proof within 7 days of delivery via: smartlyselect.com/claims-upload

Step 2 — Email support@smartlyselect.com with your order number, the upload confirmation reference, and a brief description of the issue

Step 3 — We will review your claim and respond within 2 business days with approval or rejection, along with our Singapore return address if approved
-
Step 4 — Pack the item securely in its original packaging and ship it to our Singapore address using a trackable courier service

Step 5 — Email us your tracking number after shipping
-
Step 6 — Once received and inspected at our Singapore facility, we will process your refund or replacement within 5–7 business days

Important: Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, including international postage and customs/duties fees, unless the return is due to our verified error or a confirmed product defect. We recommend using a tracked and insured courier. SmartlySelect is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping.
6. Refunds
6a. Approved Refunds
Once your returned item is received and inspected at our Singapore facility, we will notify you by email. Approved refunds will be credited to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.
6b. Late or Missing Refunds
If you have not received your refund after 7 business days, please:

Contact your credit card company as posting may take additional time

7. Exchanges
For physical products, we only replace items that are verified as defective or damaged. For on-demand printed T-shirts, exchanges are only accepted for verified manufacturing defects or incorrect items sent by us. Size exchanges are not available for printed T-shirts as each item is custom-made to order.
8. Policy Abuse & Right to Refuse
SmartlySelect is committed to fair and honest service. To protect our business from fraudulent or abusive return behaviour, we reserve the following rights:

SmartlySelect reserves the right to refuse return or refund requests from customers who display a pattern of repeated claims, excessive returns, or suspected fraud

Any attempt to submit fabricated, edited, or misleading video or photo evidence will result in an immediate and permanent ban from our store
-
Chargebacks or payment disputes filed without first contacting us may result in the customer being permanently blocked from future purchases
-
We reserve the right to share evidence of fraudulent activity with our payment processor and relevant authorities
We treat all genuine claims with care and will always do right by honest customers. This clause exists solely to protect against bad-faith abuse.
9. International Orders
SmartlySelect ships to customers worldwide. For international returns, please note:

All returns must be shipped back to our Singapore address at the customer’s expense

Customers are responsible for all international postage, customs duties, and import/export fees on returned items

We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured courier for international returns
-
SmartlySelect is not liable for items lost, damaged, or held in customs during return shipping
-
Refunds for international orders may take additional time due to banking and currency processing
10. Order Cancellations
You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it, provided it has not yet been dispatched or entered production. To cancel, email support@smartlyselect.com immediately with your order number in the subject line.
Note: On-demand printed T-shirts enter production quickly after an order is placed. If production has already begun, the order cannot be cancelled or modified. If the order has been shipped, the standard 7-day return process applies (quality defects only).
